IIF searches and Vaccination searches to help with QOF
In October 2021, phase 2 of the Impact & Investment Fund (IIF) component of the Network Contract DES was released, increasing the number of indicators which Practices have to report on. The published business rules and NHS England communications give an insight into what is coming in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 years.
- Track activity of all current indicators
- Identify missed coding opportunities with data quality searches
- Case finding for CVD-01 indicator; monitor elevated blood pressures recorded in the previous 2 years

A new area was introduced to QOF in April 2021, although it only appeared on EMIS in September when the QOF searches were updated to v46.
VI (vaccination & immunisation) contains 4 indicators to track the timely uptake of certain vaccinations.
Primary Care IT has produced supporting searches and reports to help Practices achieve the targets. The Excluded Patients folder contains some reports to identify incomplete vaccination courses and incorrect coding, enabling efforts to be targeted at quickly addressing coding issues and following up the right patients.
Practices can learn from cases where a patient has been excluded from an indicator despite the work being completed; understand the importance of vaccinating patients in a timely way within the recommended window.
