Resource Releases & Updates

💉MMRV Changes

We are now two weeks into the new MMRV vaccination schedule, and practices have contacted the support desk with a number of queries about how the changes work in day-to-day clinics.

While MMRV has replaced MMR in the routine childhood schedule, this does not apply to all children. From January 2026, children born before 1 January 2020 are not eligible to receive MMRV, meaning practices will continue to see a mix of MMR and MMRV in use.
Teams are also managing different timings for the second dose. Children born on or after 1 July 2024 will receive their second dose earlier, at 18 months. Children born before this date should continue on the existing schedule and receive their second dose at 3 years 4 months (40 months)

This means that children currently attending for their 40-month pre-school booster will have had MMR at 12 months and will now receive MMRV. Correct coding is essential to ensure these vaccinations are recorded accurately and captured for CQRS payment
Although this is the child’s second MMR-containing vaccine, we recommend using the code:

Administration of measles and mumps and rubella and varicella virus vaccine [432636005]

Using the 1st MMRV dose code will not generate payment for a child receiving their second dose at 40 months.

At present, Primary Care IT systems only offer:
🔵 Administration of measles and mumps and rubella and varicella virus vaccine [432636005], and
🔵 Administration of second dose of measles and mumps and rubella and varicella virus vaccine [433733003]

EMIS Web users will see templates adapt automatically according to date of birth, displaying the appropriate schedule and coding.

Practices are also advised to treat the EMIS red box alert for “MMRV incomplete vaccination” with caution, as a number of issues have been escalated to Optum.

As these changes are complex and depend on the child’s DOB and vaccination history we recommend checking any queries against the UKHSA guidance document MMRV vaccination: information for healthcare professionals – GOV.UK

💉Childhood Immunisation Schedule Changes – 1st January 2026

We offer a suite of resources to support practices with the planning and recording of childhood immunisations. These resources have been updated in line with schedule changes which started in July 2025, and continue with the wider rollout of the 4th dose of DTaP/IPV/Hib/HepB as well as the new MMRV vaccine in January 2026.

From 1st Jan 2026 there are 3 key changes:
1. An additional 4th dose of DTaP/IPV/Hib/HepB vaccine at a new routine appointment at 18 months for children born on/after 01/07/2024
2. The scheduled 2nd dose of MMR brought forward from 3y 4m to the new routine 18 month appointment
3. The introduction of two dose MMRV vaccine at 12 and 18 months in place of MMR

We recommend practices use these resources in conjunction with the guidance available on gov.uk Childhood schedule changes 2025 and 2026: information for healthcare practitioners – GOV.UK
and MMRV vaccination: information for healthcare professionals – GOV.UK
and the eligibility checker available here Childhood immunisation eligibility calculator

Planning
PCIT offers a range of searches in 015 Childhood Vaccinations and full details are available in our support article 015 Childhood Vaccinations – Overview

From 1st January practices will need to consider recalls for the new 18 month vaccination appointment as well as the pre-existing appointments for 1st, 2nd and 3rd primary immunisations, 12 months and 40 months.

Practices will usually have their own templates for invite text messages and letters, but there are also templates letters available on the gov.uk website here Childhood vaccination invitation letter templates – GOV.UK which may be useful.

Children born since 1st July 2024 and turning 18 months old on 1st Jan 2026 will be the first cohort to be offered a vaccination appointment at 18 months. This means that practices will need to make sure to include “CV-405) Invite for 18 month imms” from this date onwards.

PCIT also has searches to identify children who are overdue for immunisations and this includes the new 18 month appointment. Practices may wish to use these searches to ensure children do not slip through the net due to parents being confused by the schedule changes.

Recording Vaccinations
Primary Care IT’s OneTemplate NonPrescriber template offers a comprehensive page for the recording of childhood vaccinations and this has been reviewed and updated in line with the latest changes to the schedule. This includes the new SNOMED codes required for the MMRV vaccination.

Please note that the Child Vaccinations page will not display if a patient is aged 25 or over so we recommend having a child age dummy patient available if staff would like to review the updated page.

📊 New OneAnalytics Platform

We have launched our new OneAnalytics portal! What’s new: A modern user interface with improved performance and usability, stronger Security though Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) and Local access management for faster updates and improved control.

As part of the launch of the new platform, your organisation will now manage its own user access directly. You should have now been contacted if you have been identified as the designated Organisation Administrator for this platform.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) will now be enforced for all users. Please note: Generic logins are no longer supported.

If your contract includes OneAnalytics but you are yet to be contacted, this means we’re finalising discussions with your area to ensure IG materials (i.e. DPA/DPIAs) are updated and accurate to cover additional functionality added.

FAQs, Training & more

Wanting to use our searches?
We have a full suite of searches available for practice use. You can find your current searches readily installed in your system by going to Population Reporting & opening the “Primary Care IT” folder.

It’s important to note we go into practice systems and update these as frequently as possible. For further information on our searches, click here. See our guide to know the latest changes to our searches here.

Queries about CQC Navigator?
CQC inspection teams use a set of searches which have been designed to help them to understand how a Practice manages their patient population, and to identify clinical situations which should not be happening. To support with this,
Primary Care IT has adapted these searches to help practices understand what might need to be addressed before
 a CQC inspector finds it.

We recommend checking our CQC Navigator FAQ guide here. If you have any questions after reading the article, please raise a ticket with us for support.

How do I raise a support ticket?
If you ever need to contact us for support, the best way to reach us is by creating a support ticket, you can do this here. These tickets are triaged internally and passed to the relevant member of our team to ensure your request or question is answered to the best of our ability. You can always chase the progress of your support tickets by calling our office (0333 344 3678) and providing your ticket reference number.
